To cultivate an organic fruit orchard, we pay close attention to the care of each tree by pruning and thinning annually. The trees receive nourishment from compost and worm castings, and their leaves are treated with worm tea and microorganisms that are beneficial to their growth. In addition to making compost, we also cultivate nitrogen-fixing plants such as legumes between our crops to help enrich the soil. By maintaining a thriving soil food web, we ensure the health of the soil, which is critical for producing high-quality fruit. We minimize tillage and weeding to preserve the soil’s diversity and fertility. As a result, during the fruit-growing season, we are able to harvest a delicious array of organic fruits.
